The Federal Government has identified 78 priority measures that, when completed, will overhaul the entire food system, from farm to table and waste management.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Mr Nebeolisa Anako, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Director of Information, Mrs Folasade Boriowo, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Anako stated that this was in preparation for the upcoming stocktake event, which would take place in Rome on July 24 and 26 concurrently. He said that he would preside over the meeting and that the nine state coordinators from the six geopolitical zones—North East – (Borno), North West – (Kano), North Central – (Kwara), South West – (Lagos and Osun), South South – (Akwa Ibom and Edo), and South East – (Enugu and Anambra)—would be present.

The coordinating directors of the zones and the steering committee members would withdraw from June 25 to 26, according to Anako, in a similar vein. According to him, the retreat would cover the final format for the national report that Nigeria would send to the UN’s HUB for the coordination of the food system.
