The management of United Nigeria Airlines Limited has announced ambitions to grow the size of its fleet and extend service to more African destinations.

The airline will purchase two Embraer-190 aircraft, which will be delivered by the fourth quarter of 2023, and debut 10 brand-new Embraer-175 aircraft in phases over the course of the next 24 months, per the plan.

Osita Okonkwo, the airline’s chief operating officer (COO), commented on the expansion plan by saying United Nigeria Airlines would not give up on efforts to maintain its position in the aviation industry and continue providing improved services to Nigerians.

He said that plans are well under way for operations in, among other places, Ghana, Angola, South Africa, the Niger Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal and African countries.
The airlines, which started operations in February 2021, with four Embraer-145 aircraft, effectively services nine cities in the country, with plans to connect more Nigerian cities within the 2023 fiscal year and in line with its mantra …flying to unite.
