Notwithstanding rumors of an existing court injunction prohibiting it from moving forward with the project, the Federal Government in Abuja approved an e-Customs modernization project for at least N142.24 billion.
Messrs. Ahmed Raji and Dipo Okpeseyi, lawyers, warned the AGF, Zainab Ahmed, minister of finance, budget, and national planning, and Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation, in separate letters that “underhanded efforts were being made to obtain the Federal Executive Council’s approval and or ratification of the re-award of the e-Customs Modernization Project.”
In addition to the initial approval already given to Messrs., they requested that the FEC suspend or discountenance any request to begin discussions or a new request for approval for the award of the same contract to any other bidder.
