Russia Increases Gasoline Exports in Q1 and Replaces European Consumers With African Countries.
Following the European Union’s boycott on Russian goods on February 5, Russia increased exports of the motor fuel to African nations like Nigeria, Tunisia, and Libya. Moscow has been compelled to look for new markets due to a $100 per barrel price ceiling on Russian gasoline and gasoil set by the Group of Seven Nations, the EU, and Australia.
According to data from Refinitiv, Russia exported 1.9 million tonnes of gasoline between January and March of this year, up from 1.3 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2022.
