Lagos’ poultry farmers have complained about the market’s oversupply of eggs and asked the government to take the surplus off their hands.
According to Mr. Egbebe, producers have lost money because of the decrease in demand, which has caused them to lower egg prices. “The PAN scribe attributed the current egg surplus to the constrained financial flow.”
According to Mr. Iyiola, the group requested that the Lagos commissioner for agriculture collect the eggs and distribute them to the underprivileged. Joel Oduware, a poultry breeder and processor, said that the present egg surplus was purely caused by the naira shortage.
