Ebenezer Onyeagwu, group managing director and chief executive officer of Zenith Bank Plc, received a doctorate in business administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, over the weekend (UNN).
He received the honor during the university’s 50th convocation in appreciation of his outstanding accomplishments as the bank’s GMD/CEO and his contributions to the expansion of the financial services industry in Nigeria and beyond the continent of Africa.
Speaking during the ceremony, the university’s vice chancellor, Prof. Charles Igwe, commended Onyeagwu for his professional distinction and humanitarian work, which qualified him to acquire the coveted doctorate degree from Nigeria’s first indigenous institution.
