Capital Market: SEC, NAIC To Expand Trading In Commodities

In order to strengthen the commodities trading ecosystem, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has reiterated its willingness to collaborate with the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Company (NAIC).

Dayo Obisan, executive commissioner operations of the SEC, also gave a speech in which she stated that there are several opportunities along the whole agricultural value chain that, if properly utilized, might contribute to the growth of the country’s economy.

The entire value chain is rather extensive, and there have been a few advances on the commodities side.

In her remarks, NAIC’s managing director, Folashade Joseph, said the organization is ready and eager to forward any project that would benefit the populace and the economy of the country.

The NAIC MD said that the cooperation will be in the areas of storage and insurance difficulties.
