Ghana Dollar Bonds Fell Following the Government’s Announcement to Halt Debt Payments.

After the government declared, it will stop making payments on Eurobonds, foreign commercial loans, and some bilateral debt, Ghana’s sovereign dollar bonds fell more than 2 cents in value.

According to Tradeweb statistics, the 2027 maturity experienced the worst decline, dropping as much as 2. 3 cents to get bids at 34.739 cents in the dollar. The smallest losses were experienced by a 2030 Eurobond with a partial World Bank guarantee, which dropped 1. 556 cents to 66.9 cents.
