9 Ghanaians Get 72 Years Jail Term For Smuggling 10,843kgs Cannabis Into Nigeria

On October 14, nine Ghanaians who had been detained for trying to smuggle 10,843. 95kg of marijuana into Nigeria across the sea were found guilty and given 72 years in jail.

Meanwhile, in Akwa Ibom State, transnational trafficker Edet Osu James, 44, was unsuccessful in his attempt to export 2. 4 kg of cocaine to Cameroon, October 13 during an outward clearance of vessels departing from Oron for Cameroon. The cocaine was hidden in two large tins of powdered milk.

10,690 tramadol pills were seized in Imo State during stop-and-search operations on the Owerri-Onitsha road; and three suspects, Saadu Usman, Godwin Emeka, and Emeka Obijihe, were detained, October 13 as part of follow-up investigations.
