With 71 New Initiatives, Amazon Promotes Green Energy.

In an effort to utilize only renewable energy throughout its whole business by 2025, Amazon.com Inc (AMZN. O) announced that it would add 2.7 gigawatts of clean renewable energy capacity through a number of new projects.

Amazon intends to create 50,000 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean energy from its whole portfolio, which is comparable to powering 4.6 million U.S. Households annually. Amazon’s renewable energy projects will now total 379 after the inclusion of the 71 new ones.

The new initiatives include the nation’s first solar farm in Poland, rooftop solar projects in France and Austria; and three sizable facilities in the Indian state of Rajasthan with a combined 420 megawatts (MW) of power.

The company Infinium, which is by Amazon, promised to give the world’s largest online retailer low-carbon electrofuels to replace the diesel used in its fleet of vehicles.
