Stakeholders at the 47th Kaduna International Trade Fair received a clear message about Nigeria’s industrial future as the Dangote Group reinforced its commitment to local production and value addition. Representing the company during its Special Day, Fatima Wali Abdurrahman outlined the conglomerate’s ambitious Vision 2030 roadmap, positioning it as a strategic blueprint for deepening Nigeria’s manufacturing base and strengthening economic self-reliance.
Speaking before entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders at the Kaduna event, Wali Abdurrahman said the Dangote local production drive is built around long-term investments designed to reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imports. She explained that Vision 2030 aims to transform the conglomerate into a global manufacturing powerhouse while supporting national development through job creation, technology transfer, and expanded supply chains that benefit local businesses.
According to her, the group’s footprint across cement, fertiliser, petrochemicals, energy, sugar, and salt is not accidental but deliberately structured to boost domestic capacity. By expanding operations in these sectors, the company seeks to strengthen Nigeria’s industrial competitiveness and align with ongoing economic reforms focused on sustainable growth and productivity.
Wali Abdurrahman emphasized that inclusive participation is central to the roadmap. She noted that partnerships with small and medium-scale enterprises, distributors, and local suppliers are critical to building a resilient industrial ecosystem. “At the Dangote Group, local content development is not a slogan; it is the foundation of our business philosophy,” she said, stressing that Nigeria’s prosperity must be built by Nigerians for Nigerian communities.
The event also showcased tangible outcomes of this strategy. New 25kg and 100g sachet packs of Dangote Sugar were unveiled, while several subsidiaries — including Dangote Cement, Dangote Sugar Refinery, NASCON Allied Industries, Dangote-Sinotruk, Dangote Peugeot Automobile, and Dangote Fertiliser — engaged visitors through dedicated helpdesks. President of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Farouk Suleiman, described the conglomerate as a symbol of industrial excellence, underscoring its consistent support for trade exhibitions as a sign of confidence in Nigeria’s business landscape.
