NCC Reports Improved Telecom Network Quality in Q4 2025, Signals Stronger Service Delivery Nationwide
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) says telecom network quality and service delivery improved across the country in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to its latest industry performance data. The regulator disclosed this on Wednesday during a virtual media briefing where it presented key findings from the Q4 2025 Industry Performance Reports, now publicly available on the commission’s website.
Speaking at the session, the Head of Public Affairs at the NCC, Mrs. Nnenna Ukoha, said the report reflects the commission’s growing emphasis on transparency, accountability, and evidence-based regulation. She noted that publishing accurate and timely data is central to improving consumer experience and ensuring the public clearly understands developments within Nigeria’s fast-evolving telecommunications sector.
Ukoha described the media as an essential partner in shaping public perception of the industry, stressing that responsible interpretation of telecom data helps build consumer trust, investor confidence, and informed policy decisions. She explained that the engagement was designed to provide journalists with both data and context, reducing the risk of misinterpretation while improving the overall quality of telecom reporting.
She encouraged journalists to adopt what the NCC calls “constructive framing” when covering the sector—balancing existing challenges with progress, investments, and innovation. According to her, the quarterly reports offer valuable material for daily news coverage, in-depth features, investigative stories, and long-term monitoring of industry performance.
Also speaking, the Executive Commissioner for Technical Services, Engr. Abraham Oshadami, said the consistent publication of network performance data demonstrates the NCC’s belief that transparency strengthens accountability among operators. He revealed that partnerships such as the commission’s collaboration with network intelligence firm Ookla have expanded data-driven oversight, allowing consumers to compare network quality nationwide. Oshadami added that early gains highlighted in the Q4 2025 report show regulatory and industry efforts are beginning to translate into measurable improvements in consumer experience, a trend the NCC says it is committed to sustaining.
