At just 30, Ghanaian serial tech entrepreneur Freeman Faithful has lived multiple professional lives—student, tech consultant, cybersecurity engineer, and founder. Driven by curiosity and an insatiable desire to explore beyond borders, Faithful has built a career that spans continents and industries. “I’ve always been intrigued by travelling,” he says. “Not in the tourism sense. I don’t like feeling boxed in. Once I’ve seen the edges of a place, my instinct is to ask what else exists beyond it.”
Faithful’s early years in Ghana laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial journey. Initially drawn to Mechanical Engineering at KAAF University in Accra, he soon realized the discipline did not offer the immediacy and creative freedom he craved. While classmates followed traditional paths, Faithful explored Accra’s bustling tech marketplace, Circle, helping peers buy and repair phones. This early tinkering led him to launch “Doctor Android Services,” a small tech repair venture that taught him lessons in trust, demand, and practical problem-solving—lessons that would shape his future businesses.
In 2017, Faithful pivoted to Information Technology, earning a degree from Venkateshwara Open University and gaining practical skills in design, coding, and systems infrastructure. His first corporate role as IT lead at Ghana’s largest retailer, Melcom, introduced him to tech at scale. Yet, even as he thrived, the corporate environment felt limiting. He craved independence and creation, which led to the founding of Peges in 2018—a tech consulting firm that helped Ghanaian enterprises like Melcom Online, Allianz Insurance, and Junction Mall build digital platforms while generating millions in revenue.
Faithful’s journey was not without setbacks. His first tech product, BitCarter, a cryptocurrency platform, did not succeed, highlighting the importance of networks and market access beyond Ghana. “The founders who scaled fastest weren’t necessarily smarter—they were closer to opportunity,” he reflects. Determined to widen his surface area for growth, Faithful explored global options, applying for visas and eventually securing a place to study a Master’s in Cybersecurity at Coventry University in the UK in 2024.
Now based in the UK, Faithful is exploring opportunities in the growing pet-tech sector while embracing life as a digital nomad. His story reflects a blend of technical skill, entrepreneurial grit, and global ambition, showing how curiosity, adaptability, and bold risk-taking can open doors far beyond one’s home country. As he navigates a new ecosystem, Faithful remains focused on building innovative tech solutions that bridge gaps between Africa and global markets.
