The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has urged its members nationwide to prioritize purchasing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from Dangote Refinery, emphasizing that the refinery currently offers the most affordable prices for marketers. The association highlighted that free delivery of PMS to registered IPMAN members will commence in January 2026, making fuel supply more accessible and cost-effective.
In a statement signed by IPMAN National President, Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi Shettima, the association expressed excitement over the agreement with Dangote Petroleum Refinery to supply PMS directly to registered members. The collaboration, they noted, is expected to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce petrol prices at retail stations across the country.
At a press conference in Abuja, Shettima applauded Dangote Petroleum Refinery Chairman Aliko Dangote for supporting the Federal Government’s efforts, which he said have contributed to regular reductions in the petroleum pump price. “With IPMAN controlling over 80% of the PMS retail market, we foresee no gap or scarcity in PMS supply to Nigerians,” he stated.
The partnership, according to Shettima, aligns with the association’s long-term goal of deepening domestic refining to reduce dependence on imported petroleum products. He added that continuous imports distort market dynamics, drain foreign exchange, and hinder job creation, stressing the importance of strategic collaboration between IPMAN and domestic refiners like Dangote.
Finally, IPMAN congratulated the new heads of Nigeria’s petroleum regulatory bodies and reminded them of outstanding bridging claims owed its members, totaling over N190 billion. Shettima called on the NMDPRA leadership to prioritize addressing these debts, reinforcing the association’s commitment to a sustainable and fair petroleum market for all Nigerians.
