Nigerian Breweries Plc has rolled out a nationwide entrepreneurial capacity-building programme aimed at strengthening the growth and sustainability of its customers’ businesses. The initiative, designed to support retailers and sub-distributors, reflects the company’s broader commitment to empowering partners within its distribution network.

According to the company, the training programme was structured to help customers build resilient and well-managed enterprises. The initiative began in July 2025 in Awka and expanded across 12 regions, reaching 360 high-value retail outlets and sub-distributors who received hands-on training focused on long-term business success.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Empowerment to Drive Growth and Excellence (EDGE) 2025 programme in Lagos, Managing Director Thibaut Boidin said the initiative was developed after insights from customer feedback revealed persistent challenges in financial management, operational sustainability, and customer retention. He explained that EDGE was created to bridge these gaps by providing practical business knowledge, digital tools, and post-training consultancy support.

Boidin noted that the programme was particularly timely given the difficult economic environment, which has seen many retail outlets shut down in recent years. He said over 360 customers were trained and equipped with practical business tools, including free inventory management applications, to help reduce losses and improve efficiency, stressing that the company’s growth is closely tied to the success of its customers.

Also addressing participants, programme facilitator and Chief Executive Officer of Tom Associates, Temitope Jegede, said the two-day training covered financial literacy, customer service optimisation, operational efficiency, and staff development. Participants described the programme as eye-opening, noting improvements in bookkeeping, inventory control, and customer management, as the event concluded with the presentation of certificates, reinforcing Nigerian Breweries’ long-term commitment to its retail partners nationwide.
