BUA Group has recognized the dedication and loyalty of its workforce by awarding N30 billion to 510 employees during its 2025 Night of Excellence and Long Service Awards. The event, one of the largest employee reward initiatives in Nigeria’s private sector, celebrated individuals whose service spans from five years to over four decades, emphasizing the company’s belief that enduring businesses are built by people.
Speaking at the ceremony, BUA Group founder and Executive Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, highlighted the importance of acknowledging the resilience and commitment of employees. Reflecting on BUA’s journey from modest beginnings 36 years ago, Rabiu noted that the company’s success is not the result of a single person or board but the collective efforts of its dedicated workforce.
During the awards, 41 recipients received their prizes on stage, representing the highest award categories, which ranged from N100 million to N1 billion. These included sixteen recipients of N100 million each, nine of N200 million, seven of N250 million, three of N500 million, five of N1 billion, and one special award given to Kabiru Rabiu for exceptional leadership and loyalty. Other awardees received their cheques and plaques ahead of the ceremony or at their respective locations across Nigeria.
Rabiu described the cash awards as a symbolic gesture, acknowledging that no sum could fully compensate for decades of dedication, personal sacrifice, and belief in BUA’s mission. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to viewing employees as partners in a shared legacy, stressing that loyalty and professionalism deserve tangible recognition.
Looking forward, BUA plans to expand its operations in cement, food, sugar, and infrastructure, while continuing to invest in advanced technologies. The Night of Excellence reflects the company’s long-term vision, shared prosperity, and respect for its people, with guests at the event including industry leaders such as Aliko Dangote, government officials, and key partners who celebrated the achievements of BUA’s workforce.
