President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to attend the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) National Impact Summit on Thursday, December 11, 2025, a key event aimed at highlighting Nigeria’s growing digital workforce. The announcement was made by the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, on his official X account. With the President as Special Guest of Honour, the summit promises to spotlight young Nigerians driving innovation and creating solutions across the digital landscape.

The 3MTT programme, launched by the Tinubu administration, is designed to equip youths with technical skills, create employment opportunities, and foster entrepreneurship. According to Minister Tijani, the summit will showcase stories of progress, resilience, and transformation from young Nigerians who have transitioned into jobs, launched startups, and actively contributed to the nation’s digital economy. “Their achievements continue to guide our policy choices and strengthen our commitment to investing in talent at scale,” he said.

The summit will also serve as a platform to unveil the next phase of the 3MTT initiative, deepening collaboration with partners from government, industry, academia, and the global development community. The programme aligns with the government’s broader vision of building a robust digital workforce and positioning Nigeria as a net exporter of technical talent. Since its announcement in August 2024, the 3MTT programme has been central to President Tinubu’s strategy for youth empowerment and national development.

Beyond the 3MTT initiative, the administration has introduced policies aimed at improving economic opportunities and quality of life for Nigerian youths. These include the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) to support students, and the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) policy to reduce transportation costs. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, emphasized the importance of youth participation in national security intelligence and moral reorientation through the Nigeria Values Charter.

The government has also highlighted the dangers of disinformation and its links to national security threats such as terrorism, cybercrime, and violent extremism. Minister Idris urged youths to leverage government initiatives responsibly while embracing education, innovation, and civic values. With the 3MTT National Impact Summit, the administration hopes to celebrate achievements, inspire further innovation, and reinforce the pivotal role of young Nigerians in shaping the country’s digital future.
