The United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has kicked off its 2025 Customer Service Week, joining organizations worldwide to celebrate the importance of service excellence under the global theme, “Mission Possible.” The week-long event underscores the bank’s dedication to providing exceptional service and creating value for its customers across Africa and beyond.

In a statement released on Sunday, UBA said this year’s theme — Mission Possible — aligns with its long-standing “Customer First” philosophy. The bank emphasized that it remains focused on transforming challenges into opportunities through technology, innovation, and customer engagement. The celebration highlights the bank’s resolve to go beyond traditional banking by redefining how customers experience financial services.

Speaking during the launch, UBA’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Oliver Alawuba, reaffirmed the bank’s customer-centric commitment. “As Africa’s global bank, we understand the unique challenges our customers face across different markets. That’s why we continuously invest in technology, people, and processes that make banking easier, faster, and more rewarding,” he said. Alawuba added that the Customer Service Week serves as a renewed pledge to “make the impossible possible” for UBA’s diverse clientele.

Also commenting, the Group Head of Customer Experience, Michelle Nwoga, highlighted that this year’s celebration reinforces UBA’s drive to deepen customer satisfaction and innovation. “Whether it’s enabling cross-border payments in real time or supporting small businesses to scale against the odds, our mission is to deliver service that transforms lives,” Nwoga explained. She noted that the bank’s focus goes beyond service delivery — it’s about empowering customers to achieve their goals.

As part of its 2025 Customer Service Week activities, UBA is rolling out several initiatives aimed at financial empowerment and inclusion. These include a business series for small and medium-scale enterprise (SME) owners, youth-focused financial literacy programs, and opportunities for students to participate in the ongoing UBA National Essay Competition for Senior Secondary Schools. The bank said these initiatives reaffirm its commitment to shaping Africa’s future through innovation, education, and customer-focused impact.
