For years, Nigerian traders have faced barriers to investing in global markets. While many were familiar with big names like Tesla, Apple, and Amazon, actually buying into those companies from Nigeria required high broker fees, complicated paperwork, and large deposits. Most local investors were confined to forex and crypto trading, with Wall Street opportunities feeling out of reach.
Now, that limitation is fading fast. According to Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, Nigerians can now bridge the gap between crypto and Wall Street through Real-World Assets (RWA) on the Bitget platform. This feature allows users to directly trade tokenized versions of US stocks and ETFs, using the same crypto accounts they already manage. “Nigeria has one of the fastest-growing crypto adoption rates in Africa,” Chen said, adding that young traders and university students are increasingly seeing crypto as a gateway to global finance.
Unlike traditional brokers, Bitget’s platform removes the need for offshore accounts or US-based brokers. Nigerians can now trade both crypto and US stocks by depositing USDT or Naira (NGN) via trusted local banking and fintech channels, including GTBank, Access Bank, Zenith Bank, UBA, Opay, PalmPay, Flutterwave, Paystack, Moniepoint, and Kuda. Chen noted that with as little as ₦7,000, users can start trading RWA futures on major US companies like Apple, Tesla, and Microsoft, and even leverage positions up to ten times their balance.
The growing list of tokenized US stocks and ETFs now available on Bitget includes top global brands such as Nvidia, Meta, Alphabet, JPMorgan Chase, Coca-Cola, and ExxonMobil, as well as major ETFs like the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) and Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ). Over 100 assets are already listed, with more being added regularly, giving Nigerian traders broader access to global investment opportunities.
“Nigeria’s forex traders already understand chart reading and market analysis,” Chen said. “Now, those same skills can be applied to the Nasdaq and S&P 500. The future of trading is about combining crypto’s volatility with the stability of stocks and ETFs. Every market shift rewards early adopters — and RWA trading could be the next big wave for Nigerian investors.”
