Africa Prudential Plc has reported a robust financial performance for the first half of 2025, posting a 75 percent year-on-year increase in Profit Before Tax (PBT) to N1.98 billion, compared to N1.13 billion recorded in the same period last year. According to the company’s unaudited results released in Lagos, Profit After Tax (PAT) also surged by 73 percent to N1.35 billion, up from N779 million in H1 2024.

The report revealed significant improvements across key metrics, with net total income rising by 64 percent to N3.3 billion, compared to N2 billion in the previous year. Total assets climbed 38 percent to N41.35 billion as of June 2025, from N29.95 billion recorded in 2024, while shareholders’ funds grew by 15 percent to N11 billion, despite a N1.2 billion dividend payout earlier in the year.

Commenting on the performance, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Catherine Nwosu, attributed the strong results to the company’s diversified income streams and strategic focus amid Nigeria’s challenging economic environment marked by inflation, forex volatility, and high interest rates. “Our first-half performance of 2025 reflects the strength of our diversified income base and the commitment of our people to delivering value despite a challenging operating environment,” she said.

Nwosu also announced that the company achieved a historic milestone by rewarding shareholders with a bonus issue for the first time in its history. She reaffirmed Africa Prudential’s commitment to delivering sustainable growth through innovation, operational excellence, and leveraging technology to enhance investor services and expand market presence.

Operational efficiency was a key driver of the improved results, as the company’s cost-to-income ratio improved to 41 percent from 44 percent in 2024, while Return on Average Assets remained steady at 3.3 percent. These figures underscore the company’s solid financial position and long-term growth outlook.
