Content creators in Nigeria are set to gain fresh insights into the power of artificial intelligence (AI) at this year’s Nigeria Electronic Media Content Exhibitions and Awards (NEMCEA 2025). The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) announced that the summit will include special training sessions to help professionals leverage AI for faster and smarter content creation.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, EMCOAN President, Mr. Adeniji Omirin, revealed that the event will hold from September 16–17, 2025, under the theme “Sustainable Content Creation in a Fragmented Media Landscape.” He emphasized that the initiative aims to equip Nigerian creators with the right tools to remain competitive in a fast-changing global media industry.

Omirin further noted that the training will be led by award-winning AI strategist, Mr. John Orakwe, who has trained thousands of business leaders worldwide. He highlighted that the sessions will address both opportunities and ethical considerations around AI adoption in content production, ensuring Nigeria does not lag behind in the global digital transformation.

Project Director of NEMCEA 2025 and EMCOAN’s General Secretary, Mr. Stephen Alayande, added that the conference will tackle pressing industry challenges such as content monetisation, cross-platform engagement, and technology-driven storytelling. A director-general roundtable will also feature for the first time, bringing regulators, broadcasters, advertisers, and creators together to shape policies for growth and innovation in the electronic media sector.

The two-day summit will culminate in the prestigious NEMCEA Awards Night, where individuals and organisations who have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and creativity in the electronic media industry will be honoured. Now in its fourth edition, NEMCEA 2025 promises to be a pivotal event for Nigeria’s content industry, reinforcing the country’s position as a hub for creativity and digital innovation.
