FCMB Launches Sangotedo Branch to Boost Economic Growth in Lagos

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) officially opened a new branch in Sangotedo, Lagos, on June 26, 2025, as part of its expansion strategy. The commissioning ceremony brought together top FCMB executives and local dignitaries, including community leaders and government officials. The event underscored the importance of accessible financial services in fast-growing regions like Sangotedo and reflected FCMB’s goal of supporting local businesses and residents.

Traditional leaders from the Ogombo and Sangotedo Kingdoms, represented by Chief Lukman Lawal and Otunba Tunde Johnson, respectively, expressed strong support for the new branch. They acknowledged FCMB’s reputable history in community banking and called for further investment in the area, given its ongoing rapid development. They emphasized the value of banking services in enhancing commerce and improving livelihoods in their communities.

Honourable John Ogundare, Chairman of Eti-Osa East LCDA, described the branch opening as a major milestone for Sangotedo and the broader Eti-Osa region. He highlighted the importance of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and expressed hope that FCMB’s presence would serve as a strong pillar for the community’s economic transformation.

Representing FCMB’s CEO, Mr. Emmanuel Comla reassured the community of the Bank’s long-term commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth. He cited the strategic location of Sangotedo along the Lekki-Epe corridor and near major projects such as the Dangote Refinery and the Deep-Sea Port as key factors in FCMB’s expansion. The Bank pledged to empower local businesses with accessible financing options.

In line with its focus on innovation and sustainability, FCMB’s new branch is fully integrated into its digital banking ecosystem and operates using renewable energy. Mr. Ademola Idowu, Group Head of Operations and International Trade Services, revealed that the facility includes digital services such as internet and mobile banking, reliable ATMs, and a solar-powered backup system—ensuring uninterrupted, eco-friendly service delivery.
