Nigerian Breweries Appoints Emmanuel Oriakhi as Sales Director to Lead Growth and Innovation

Nigerian Breweries Plc has officially appointed Emmanuel Oriakhi as its new sales director, effective March 24, 2025. This announcement was made in a statement signed by Managing Director Hans Essaadi. Oriakhi had previously served in the role on an interim basis since November 2024 while simultaneously managing his duties as marketing director.

In his new capacity, Oriakhi will be responsible for enhancing trade execution, strengthening customer engagement, and optimizing both distribution and sales performance. He will continue overseeing marketing operations until June 1, 2025, when a new marketing director is expected to be named. His role is seen as critical in aligning sales and marketing functions to create a more streamlined and effective commercial structure.

As part of his responsibilities, Oriakhi will drive strategic initiatives aimed at developing a future-ready sales force. This includes leading the company’s efforts to deepen sales expertise and promoting the “Women in Sales” programme, reinforcing Nigerian Breweries’ broader diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda.

The 78-year-old brewing giant expressed confidence in Oriakhi’s leadership, noting that his expanded role supports the company’s strategic goal of maintaining market leadership while navigating a rapidly evolving business environment. The company highlighted his mandate to foster a culture of innovation and resilience within the sales function.

Oriakhi brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as marketing director since 2018. During his tenure, he led key innovations and brand transformations across products such as Desperados, Heineken 45cl, and Goldberg Black. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening Nigerian Breweries’ premium positioning and value-driven strategy in Nigeria’s competitive beverage market.
