First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has officially opened a new branch in Ogbomosho, aimed at boosting financial inclusion and economic growth in the region. The branch, located along the Ogbomosho-Ilorin road, was inaugurated on March 12 in a ceremony attended by local leaders, marking a significant milestone for both the bank and the local community.
Oba Ghandi Olaoye, the Soun of Ogbomosho, praised FCMB for its initiative, expressing optimism that the bank’s presence would contribute positively to local businesses and the town’s economic development. He emphasized that FCMB’s innovative approach would provide much-needed financial services to businesses and residents, supporting the town’s long-term development plans.
Mrs. Yemisi Edun, FCMB’s Managing Director, represented by Mr. Emmanuel Comla, the bank’s National Head of Sales, underscored the bank’s commitment to inclusive growth and investment in Ogbomosho’s future. She highlighted the importance of physical branches, despite the rise of digital banking, as essential touchpoints for communities. FCMB plans to support the region’s development in alignment with Ogbomosho’s 25-year growth strategy.
The branch is equipped with state-of-the-art banking technology and runs on renewable energy, according to Mr. Ademola Idowu, FCMB’s Group Head of Operations and International Trade Services. He emphasized the bank’s role in facilitating business and trade growth in Ogbomosho and the surrounding areas, positioning the branch as a catalyst for local economic development.
