The Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind (FNSB) has praised First City Monument Bank (FCMB) for its ongoing contributions to supporting the visually impaired community in Nigeria. FCMB has provided significant financial donations and essential supplies, benefiting several institutions including FNSB, Pacelli School for the Blind, Bethesda Home for the Blind, and Farmcraft Centre for the Blind. These efforts have made a meaningful impact on the lives of visually impaired individuals across the country.

Arit Tunde-Imoyo, Chairman of the FNSB Executive Council, expressed heartfelt gratitude for FCMB’s long-standing partnership. She highlighted the bank’s vital role in sustaining the mission to empower visually impaired individuals, allowing them to live independently and with dignity. According to her, FCMB’s support goes beyond that of a donor, describing the bank as a true partner in their shared goal.

FCMB’s Divisional Head of Corporate Affairs, Diran Olojo, reiterated the bank’s commitment to inclusivity and support for the blind. He emphasized that every person, regardless of ability, deserves a chance to reach their potential. Olojo also stressed the importance of challenging societal stereotypes about disabilities, arguing that the real barriers faced by the visually impaired are not their abilities but misconceptions and lack of support.

The impact of FCMB’s contributions was also noted by the FNSB Vocational Training Centre and Bethesda Home for the Blind. Both institutions highlighted the bank’s consistent support, which has significantly enhanced the welfare of students and the overall quality of teaching and learning for the visually impaired. FCMB’s ongoing generosity was met with appreciation and prayers for continued success.
