The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Africa, has unveiled 15 groundbreaking startups for its HealthTech Hub program, including three Nigerian companies: Medtech Africa, Zuri Health, and Mobihealth. These high-potential startups will each receive $25,000 to scale their healthcare innovations, and five additional startups in the pre-minimum viable product (Pre-MVP) stage will receive $5,000 each to support product development. This initiative reflects a commitment to advancing transformative healthcare solutions across Africa.

The selected startups emerged from an inaugural cohort of 40 Pan-African innovators who participated in a bootcamp launched in November 2024. This intensive programme was designed to identify and shortlist startups with the most promise in revolutionizing healthcare delivery on the continent. The 15 chosen companies will now move into the acceleration phase, where they will benefit from targeted support to expand their impact. Meanwhile, Pre-MVP startups will receive tailored mentorship and resources through the Pre-MVP Studio to bring their products to market.

This effort underscores the HealthTech Hub’s mission to drive innovation in Africa’s healthcare sector. Throughout the programme, the participating startups received expert coaching, workshops, and insights to refine their business models and solutions. By supporting these initiatives, UNDP Africa and Timbuktoo aim to address critical healthcare challenges and foster sustainable growth in the continent’s healthtech ecosystem.
