FirstBank unveils entertainment hub

FirstBank has launched Bluu TV, a new entertainment hub designed to support Nigeria’s creative arts sector, as part of its First Arts initiative. The unveiling, which included the premiere of an original series A Heart on the Line, highlights the bank’s commitment to fostering economic growth through the arts. Represented by Idowu Thompson, Group Executive for Private Banking and Wealth Management, Managing Director Segun Alebiosu emphasized the sector’s potential to drive productivity and create jobs.

The bank has demonstrated its dedication to the arts through sponsorships like the Lagos International Theatre Festival and stage play Kurunmi. Alebiosu stressed the importance of the arts in shaping culture, inspiring change, and promoting unity, education, and entertainment. He described the launch of Bluu TV as a milestone, noting its role in empowering youth and enabling innovation in the industry.

Abimbola Craig, the director and producer of A Heart on the Line, expressed gratitude to FirstBank for supporting the project. She shared how the two-year journey from concept to realization exemplifies the bank’s patience and commitment to filmmaking. The platform aims to provide quality African entertainment, bridging creativity and technology while advancing the creative economy in Nigeria.
