Polaris Bank and Amtis Skills Place Empower Young Designers Through Fashion Competition

Polaris Bank partnered with Amtis Skills Place to host the 2024 Amtis Fashion Competition, a platform aimed at training and mentoring young Nigerian designers. Amtis Skills Place, established in 2015, is dedicated to equipping youth with contemporary vocational skills. This year’s competition challenged participants aged 18 to 35 to create garments inspired by vintage fashion, emphasizing creativity, craftsmanship, and teamwork while promoting entrepreneurship.

The competition featured collaborative teams of designers, makeup artists, and models, with finalists judged on their ability to adhere to the vintage theme. At the awards ceremony, Wuraola Robert secured the top prize of N500,000, while the second and third-place winners received N300,000 and N200,000, respectively. Polaris Bank’s Managing Director, Kayode Lawal, highlighted the institution’s commitment to supporting the aspirations of young entrepreneurs, promising an even bigger event next year with more opportunities and rewards.

Omotunde Adebusola, Managing Director of Amtis Skills Place, praised Polaris Bank for its role in making the competition a success. He emphasized the importance of such collaborations in nurturing talent and fostering innovation in Nigeria’s fashion industry. The event not only celebrated classic fashion eras but also served as a springboard for the next generation of creative professionals.
