The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, Zephaniah Jisalo, praised the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) for its impactful regulatory functions and its contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth. Speaking at the 2024 stakeholders meeting in Lagos, Jisalo emphasized the vital role of the NLRC in overseeing the gaming and lottery industry, affirming that the ministry fully supports its efforts.
The Director General of the NLRC, Mr. Lanre Gbajabiamila, highlighted the importance of responsible gaming, noting that it not only protects citizens but also supports Nigeria’s socio-economic development. He expressed the Commission’s commitment to ongoing engagement with stakeholders to achieve a balance between industry growth and social responsibility, aiming to create a trustworthy and impactful gaming sector in Nigeria.
Other notable speakers included Comrade Toyin Adeyanju, Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), who encouraged operators to make accurate remittances to support the expansion of the Trust Fund’s projects across the country. Dr. Maryam Keshinro, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Special Duties, also commended the collective efforts of the NLRC, recognizing its continued excellence and its significant role in shaping the Nigerian gaming landscape.
