First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has teamed up with EStars to introduce esports education to primary and secondary schools across Nigeria. The initiative aims to equip children aged 7 to 14 with essential digital skills, fostering teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities that are crucial in today’s tech-driven world. This partnership aligns with FCMB’s commitment to supporting education and youth development in Nigeria.
Launched on July 16, 2024, EStars’ platform offers a structured and engaging approach to esports education. It provides students with the opportunity to learn valuable life skills through gaming, while also offering tournament management tools, team collaboration features, and resources for integrating esports into school curricula. The platform also includes coaching materials to guide students in developing esports skills and exploring future career opportunities in the growing industry.
This collaboration has received support from various stakeholders, including British Deputy High Commissioner Jonny Baxter, who emphasized the professional growth of esports. Many schools in Nigeria are already incorporating esports into their extracurricular activities or curricula, recognizing its potential to teach students about STEM fields. Both FCMB and EStars believe that the initiative will empower students to not only excel in esports but also to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital world.
