Anambra State has officially adopted the new minimum wage of N70,000, fulfilling the Federal Government’s directive to enhance workers’ standard of living. This was confirmed by the State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, who addressed media reports that previously excluded Anambra from the states already implementing the new wage.

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s administration has been committed to the welfare of state workers, and the N70,000 minimum wage was first paid in October. The government continues to prioritize timely payments, ensuring that workers receive their salary alerts on or before the 25th of every month.

Additionally, Governor Soludo has raised pensions for retirees in the state, ensuring they receive a better standard of living. His administration’s actions demonstrate a strong commitment to both the active workforce and pensioners in Anambra.
