Sahara Group Foundation has launched its “Making A Difference Around Africa” (MADAA) initiative to support emerging African entrepreneurs. This initiative, part of Sahara Group’s Entrepreneurship model, was unveiled at a gathering of corporate stakeholders, press, and business leaders. Chidilim Menakaya, the Foundation’s Head of Programs, emphasized that MADAA aims to provide budding entrepreneurs with sustainable economic opportunities, propelling innovative business ideas and social ventures across the continent.

The MADAA initiative will be accepting applications until November 2024, focusing on entrepreneurs who leverage local resources to address Africa’s unique challenges. Menakaya stated that the program seeks “extraordinary” ideas that could transform the continent’s economic landscape. Selected participants will benefit from $100 million in financial support, industry mentorship, and strategic resources to help grow and establish their ventures.

MADAA’s launch underscores Sahara Group Foundation’s commitment to inclusive development within Africa’s MSME sector. This program aligns with the Foundation’s broader mission of fostering sustainable communities through partnerships that enhance business capacity and growth. Beneficiaries are expected to emerge as leaders in their fields, contributing to a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem across Africa.
