Schneider Electric, a leader in energy management, has achieved a significant cybersecurity milestone with its EcoStruxure IT Network Management Card 3 (NMC3), the first Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) network card to earn IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 (SL2) certification. This certification, conducted by TÜV Rheinland, recognizes the NMC3’s robust defense capabilities against cyber threats and affirms Schneider’s commitment to secure product development in line with international standards. The SL2 certification builds on Schneider’s previous SL1 achievement, marking a step up in cybersecurity requirements for critical infrastructure.

The NMC3 platform, integrated into most EcoStruxure IT DCIM products, enables secure remote management of data center power and cooling systems. Additionally, Schneider’s Secure NMC System Tool streamlines firmware management, automatically notifying users of updates and reducing risks associated with outdated software. This tool addresses cybersecurity challenges in distributed IT and edge environments, accelerating the update process by up to 90% and helping customers keep systems secure and compliant.

By achieving these certifications, Schneider Electric strengthens its cybersecurity posture at a time when cyber incidents are a top business concern globally, with average costs per incident exceeding $4 million. Kevin Brown, SVP of EcoStruxure IT at Schneider, highlighted the importance of these advancements, noting that the certifications help mitigate cyber risks for customers while maintaining high standards of cybersecurity compliance.
