Taiwan is ready to support Nigeria in boosting its technology sector, as revealed by Mr. James Huang, Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

During a business session in Lagos with Nigerian businessmen and members of NACCIMA, Huang emphasized Taiwan’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Nigeria by helping to grow its technological capabilities for economic development.

The Taiwanese delegation’s visit aimed to assess Nigeria’s industrial growth and identify areas where Taiwan’s manufacturing companies, skilled in petrochemicals, ICT, machinery, and green energy solutions, could offer meaningful support.

Huang emphasized the potential for Taiwanese investors to set up local production facilities in Nigeria, bypassing the need for exports from Taiwan.

Huang further acknowledged Nigeria’s rapid progress in technology and highlighted opportunities for collaboration in Artificial Intelligence and other future technologies, saying both countries could work together to shape the technological future. This visit marks Taiwan’s second business delegation to Nigeria in 2024, showcasing a commitment to deeper economic ties.
