The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and the University of Maiduguri (Unimaid) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bridging the gap between academic research and industry practice.

This strategic partnership is focused on fostering innovation, enriching learning, and promoting sustainable development within the capital market sector.

The collaboration was formalized in a ceremony attended by key representatives from both institutions, including NGX CEO Jude Chiemeka and Prof. Mohammed Madawaki, Director of Unimaid’s Business School.
Through this partnership, NGX and Unimaid will offer joint capacity-building courses via NGX’s X-Academy and Unimaid’s Business School, focusing on financial and capital market education.

The collaboration also includes consultancy services to enhance business operations, shared research, and the co-development of financial courses.

Additionally, the MoU outlines plans to promote certification programs, entrepreneurship training, and other educational initiatives that align with the evolving needs of the financial sector.

Both Chiemeka and Madawaki emphasized the significance of the partnership in driving innovation, developing future leaders, and advancing the financial ecosystem.

The collaboration is seen as a natural alignment of academic rigor with industry expertise, aiming to create a more resilient financial sector while enhancing business and individual skills through education.
