The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has confirmed that negotiations to resume cargo flights between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia are in progress, though no final dates have been set for implementation.

Keyamo emphasized the complexity of the process due to international diplomatic protocols.

His Special Adviser on Media, Tunde Moshood, explained that while progress is being made, the resumption of flights will depend on ongoing diplomatic discussions.

The negotiations follow Keyamo’s announcement in May of plans to restart cargo flights as part of broader aviation sector reforms in partnership with the Central Bank of Nigeria, a decision finalized during a recent visit to Saudi Arabia.
