The Federal Government has allocated N20 billion each month to Julius Berger Plc for the dualization of an 82-kilometre section of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Highway, totaling 164 kilometres.

The project is set to be completed within 14 months, with a focus on enhancing road quality and user experience.

During a recent meeting, Minister of Works David Umahi emphasized the need for Julius Berger to complete one carriageway at a time and fill both carriageways with a stone base within three weeks to ease travel difficulties.

The minister praised the contractor’s work quality but stressed adherence to the outlined project phases.

This commitment is part of a broader federal effort to oversee and expedite road construction projects.

In July 2024, the government announced the dualization of the unfinished sections of the highway, with Julius Berger handling a significant portion of the work and a completion target of May 2025.
