Oil and gas communities in the Niger-Delta have presented a comprehensive agenda to the Federal Government, International Oil Companies (IOCs), and the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The call for action came through various leaders, including Elder Joseph Ambakaderimo and Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe.

The communities are urging the government to release all pending statutory allocations to the NDDC and for IOCs to settle the backlog of their three percent contribution to the Commission.

They also requested improvements in infrastructure, such as better roads and electricity, and criticized the quality of current solar lighting projects.

The leaders stressed the need for industrialization and proposed establishing Special Economic Zones to support small and medium enterprises.

MOSOP President Fegalo Nsuke and other leaders called for the NDDC to undertake significant infrastructure projects, including road networks and land reclamation, while addressing corruption and enhancing accountability.

They emphasized the importance of human capital development and regional integration, urging a robust reorganization of the NDDC for greater impact.
