The First City Monument Bank (FCMB) is addressing gender inequality in Nigeria’s business sector with its SheVentures programme, offering interest-free loans up to N10 million. This initiative specifically supports female entrepreneurs in the export and agricultural sectors, aiming to foster a more inclusive economic environment.
Managing Director of FCMB, Yemisi Edun, highlighted that beneficiaries will also receive exclusive business management training and mentorship. This comprehensive support system is designed to promote business growth and sustainability among female entrepreneurs.
Edun emphasized that the SheVentures initiative aligns with the bank’s mission of promoting inclusive and sustainable development across Africa. The revamped zero-interest loan offering marks a significant step in empowering Nigerian businesswomen to contribute more to export trade, agribusiness, and the economy.
