AEDC Appoints 4th CEO In 11 Months

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has appointed Engr Chijioke Okwuokenye as the acting Managing Director, effective immediately.

Adefisayo Akinsanya, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, stated that this appointment aligns with AEDC’s transformation agenda to position itself as a leading, customer-focused electricity distribution company in Nigeria.

Engr Okwuokenye, previously the Chief Operating Officer, brings extensive experience and expertise in the power sector, along with a commitment to advancing the Nigerian electricity supply industry.

Dr. Stanley I. Lawson, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed confidence in Okwuokenye’s ability to lead the company’s corporate turnaround, citing his technical and commercial background.

In addition, AEDC has appointed Olumide Jerome as the new Chief Operating Officer. Jerome, formerly one of the company’s Chief Business Officers, will now focus on driving efficiency and operational excellence within the company.
