Jupiter Lithium Limited has signed an MOU with South Africa’s Bevex Mining Services to develop modular lithium concentrator plants at their mine near Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
This project, known as the Jupiter Project, spans 442 km² and is focused on extracting spodumene to produce high-quality Spodumene Concentrate (SC6) for battery production.
Ambassador Dr. Hassan Tukur of Range Mining, a local subsidiary of Jupiter Lithium, highlighted the significance of this partnership in leveraging advanced lithium processing technology to enhance Nigeria’s mining sector and boost local employment.
Bevex Mining Services, with its extensive experience in lithium processing across Africa, will bring its expertise to the project.
Dave Griffiths, CEO of Bevex Mining Services, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the use of Dense Media Separation (DMS) technology.
This method will help create modular process plants close to spodumene outcrops, reducing transport costs and environmental impact, aligning with the Jupiter Project’s commitment to local development and sustainability.
