UBA’s GMD appointed Chairman, CIBN Body of Banks’ CEOs

Oliver Alawuba, Group Managing Director and CEO of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has been appointed Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) Body of Banks’ CEOs.

Announced on July 8, 2024, this appointment highlights Alawuba’s extensive experience and visionary leadership in the banking sector. In his new role, Alawuba will lead efforts to foster collaboration and drive strategic initiatives among top bank executives in Nigeria.

Joining Alawuba, Mrs. Miriam Olusanya, CEO of GTBank, has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Body of Banks’ CEOs. Their leadership is expected to bring innovative solutions and strengthen the banking community’s collective efforts to address the dynamic challenges and opportunities within the financial sector.
