Jude Chiemeka has been officially appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), effective from July 1.
He brings nearly thirty years of experience in African securities trading and asset management to his new role.
Chiemeka had been serving as the acting CEO since January 2024, succeeding Temi Popoola, who now serves as the group managing director and CEO.
The NGX Group and Nigerian Exchange Limited boards have expressed confidence in Chiemeka’s leadership abilities, highlighting his extensive experience and strategic vision.
Umaru Kwairanga, Chairman of NGX Group, emphasized that Chiemeka’s appointment aligns with their succession plan and is expected to drive long-term success and growth for NGX and the broader Nigerian and African economies.
Chiemeka himself expressed honor and readiness for the role, acknowledging the critical juncture in NGX’s history. His previous roles include Executive Director of Capital Markets at NGX and MD/CEO at United Capital Securities Limited.
