African payments giant Flutterwave has laid off about 30 employees, approximately 3% of its workforce, as part of a strategic shift to focus on its core revenue drivers: remittance and enterprise services. This move comes three months after the company announced its repositioning efforts.

As part of this new focus, Flutterwave shut down its Barter service in March. The layoffs are a direct result of this strategic realignment aimed at strengthening the company’s position in its most profitable sectors.

The company’s decision indicates its commitment to concentrating resources on areas with the highest revenue potential, ensuring sustained growth and market leadership in the competitive payments industry.
