There are several important stories making the news in Nigeria today. The biggest one is that talks between the government and labour unions over raising the minimum wage have reached a stalemate. Unions are asking for 615,000 naira, but the government has only offered 54,00 separatists are calling for a sit-at-home protest at the end of May.

On the security front, there are reports of violence in both Plateau state, where gunmen recently killed 40 people, and Borno state, where suspected terrorists attacked police officers. There are also concerns about rising fuel costs and a recent incident where a Chinese worker allegedly killed a Nigerian woman.

Overall, it’s a mixed bag of news in Nigeria today. There’s some positive movement on the economy with the minimum wage talks, but security concerns and rising fuel prices are causing problems for many Nigerians.
