TotalEnergies is gearing up to support 100 startup businesses across 32 African countries in the 4th edition of the ‘Startupper of the Year Challenge,’ commemorating the company’s 100th anniversary.
Dr. Adesuwa Adewole, General Manager of TotalEnergies Country Services, emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and socio-economic development in African nations.The challenge aims to bolster local communities by assisting innovative entrepreneurs in realizing their projects.
Since 2015, the initiative has recognized and supported 365 winners selected from over 40,000 applications worldwide. Each project entry will be evaluated based on criteria such as relevance to sustainable development, innovation, feasibility, and gender equality.
Winners of the challenge will receive a monetary award of N8,000,000 (eight million naira), personalized support, and a communication campaign to promote their projects’ visibility. They will also have the opportunity to showcase their initiatives during a celebratory event, details of which will be announced later.
