Rita Idehai, a female innovator and techpreneur, has won the prestigious Deji Alli ARM Young Talent Award (DAAYTA) 2024 for young entrepreneurs, earning a prize of N12 million.
The competition, aimed at nurturing young entrepreneurs with innovative and sustainable ideas, received over 750 applications, with Idehai’s waste management innovation emerging as the top choice.
Idehai’s company, Ecobarter, impressed the judging panel with its technology-driven approach to waste management and recycling, transforming various types of waste into valuable resources for industrial and consumer applications.
Goods and Services 360 Ltd (GAS360), founded by Jane Ekeh, secured second place for its work in clean technology, energy, e-commerce, and Fintech sectors, particularly focusing on revolutionizing access to clean cooking fuels across Africa.
Industry experts and investors such as Dr Ndidi Nnoli-Edozien, Kola Aina, Sadiq Mohammed, Folashade Olusanya, Victor Asemota, and Ina Alogwu were part of the judging panel.
