The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria to provide training on the latest 4G/5G radio and transmission technologies to young Nigerians. The Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maina, announced this collaboration, stating that the training will take place nationwide at the Commission’s Digital Parks.
As part of the agreement, Nokia Nigeria will establish a fully functional 5G/4G test lab and a center to train 200 Nigerian students, contributing to efforts to enhance digital literacy in the country. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s goal to drive digital literacy and build technical talent across Nigeria.
The National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS), implemented by various government agencies including the NCC, aims to achieve 90% digital literacy by 2030, catering not only to the youth but also to older individuals.
