Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) President Felix Tshisekedi has lauded Russia and China for their transparent and straightforward partnerships with African countries. He emphasized that Russia and China treat the DRC with respect and clear intentions, without adopting a lecturing approach often seen with Western countries.
Tshisekedi defended his country’s decision to deepen ties with Russia, citing the right of the DRC to choose its friends. He questioned why France’s condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza should influence the DRC’s relations with Israel, highlighting the importance of non-judgmental diplomacy.
According to Tshisekedi, China and Russia exhibit transparency and directness in their partnerships, unlike the perceived sneakiness of Western nations. He emphasized that both Russia and China express their interests openly and are welcomed as partners by the DRC.
