The Federal Government has approved a salary increase ranging from 25% to 35% across various salary structures, aiming to enhance the welfare of civil servants. This increment will benefit personnel on six Consolidated Salary Structures, including CONPSS, CONRAISS, CONPOSS, CONPASS, CONICCS, and CONAFSS.

This decision follows previous salary increments in the Tertiary Education and Health Sectors. Notably, employees in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and the health sector have seen improvements in their salary structures.

Emmanuel Njoku, the Head of Press at the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission (NSIWC), confirmed that these increases took effect from January 1, 2024. Additionally, the Federal Government has extended its generosity to pensioners by approving a hike in pensions by percentages ranging from 20% to 28%.
